1. A windy 26 mile ride with Steve B. yesterday. He made some convincing arguments as to why I should get a power meter – at one point we were crawling along at 8mph, but I guess the power wattage was still pretty good. It’s a much better way of being able to tell how good of a workout you’re getting because, for example, on windy days, you’re working much harder for that 8mph. Then again, it's $400 with a substantial discount, so I'll probably wait on one until after the Bike and Build trip. He also told me about his crazy 140mile ride – sounded like fun.(We rode 25-29mph on the way back.)
I should add that yesterday was the 5th day in a row riding. I feel fine, but I'm wondering if I overtrained slightly for the races this weekend. I should really start following a training schedule. I also really had to stop myself from riding today because it was so gorgeous out.
2. Cooked Korean food for Jean-Baptiste – FINALLY! I went with rice cake soup (traditionally eaten on New Year’s), frozen potstickers, green onion pancakes, fried tofu, kimche, a bottle of Korean wine, and green tea icecream. Everyone seemed to like the food. He showed us a small portion of the 1500 photos he took in
Cheers~
