Boreas

Boreas decided I was taking things too easy these past few days, so he blew me a lovely north wind at 20mph on the Lakefront path. I ended up turning around early when the sand off the beach thought my ankles needed some grinding down. I had noticed on my way up that on the one part of the path least protected from northeasterly winds, the waves were getting high enough to bypass the corrugated metal siding facing the lake and slowly seep over the path. I rode closer to the wall away from the lake to avoid this, especially on the way back ... but then an especially zealous gust splashed lakewater over me and my bike up to my waist! That was a cold ride back.

I had hoped to save some money at least by not having to buy new shoes ... but as I changed out the worn out cleats, I ended up stripping the cleat plate of the shoe, and it doesn't look to be replaceable on Sidi's. At least it happened now and not on the trip.

Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate my birthday :)

Don't you just hate how Boreas is always imposing his will on others without the slightest consideration for their personal preferences?
