Which Sigg?

So, the travel mug I've been using is absolutely falling to pieces, and I'm finally considering replacing it. Being the design overanalytic that I am, of course it's taking me a long time to decide between 3 different types of Sigg bottles.


First Option that we have is actually not a travel mug at all, but the generic Sigg water bottle. It's classic, inflated Aluminum, recyclable, with no bysphenol-A leeching into water. Awesome, I have one less carcinogen to worry about. However, it doesn't actually keep beverages warm. I might consider this just as a water bottle.

Second Option is the Metro Mug. It's not actually a travel mug either, more like a glorified thermos. It does look very nice though. Ironically, it's not Swiss made. Sigg states that all their stainless steel products are made in China. "Several of our loyal customers have told us that when they see the SIGG brand, they expect to get a Swiss-made product. Our high performance stainless steel bottles are designed by our team of Swiss engineers at SIGG Switzerland and forged in China from industrial strength, sanitary grade 18/8 stainless steel. A full-time Swiss Quality control Inspector lives and works full time at this facility, and the Swiss Product Management Team travels regularly from Switzerland to Asia to ensure that our manufacturing facility practices fair labor and manufactures in an environmentally responsible manner."

Third option is actually a travel mug. It is also stainless steel, and not made in Switzerland. It's also not as elegant as the other options, but actually fits my needs. I'm not sure that I feel like spending $20 + shipping just to get something with a Sigg label on it, even if it does have vacuum insulation. I'm tempted to pick up something at Metropolis or other local coffee shop next time I'm there.
