Easy rolling hills today through Amish country! We passed by many horse and carriages, horses, cows, etc.
Lunch #1 was amazing because we still have an abundance of foods from the grocery store donation :)
I used the aerobars like mad today! There were so many flat stretches and bike paths with no cars to worry about. And then, Mark Smiley, Katherine, Barbara and I stopped at the DQ for blizzards and Moolattes (I had cappucino). AMAZING. I stepped out to make sure our bikes weren't stolen (I'm paranoid about these things), just in time to feed spoonfuls of my drink to Hana and Joe who rolled in for refreshing drinks.
Lunch #2: even better. Barbara had started a game of assassins, and Kourtney killed me at lunch. I made my "public death scene" dramatic, and then stared at the clouds trying to pick out their fractal patterns until I convinced myself to get up and leave.
Joe was FLYING after lunch, and Hana and I could not keep up. The roads were pretty easy to follow though, and the last stretch was on 10 miles of bike path. Easiest last 10miles after 80miles ever.
AND THEN IT RAINED AND HAILED ON US !!!!!!!!!! It was so painful riding through it! But it was also strangely exhilarating, and Hana and I arrived within a mile after the storm started raging. Joe made bear sounds to greet us :)
AND WE'RE SLEEPING IN REAL BEDS WITH LINEN TONIGHT !!!!!!!

Missed you by a few days. I was in Gambier for the tour of Ohio on Thursday.
Glad to hear that things are still rolling along well.
Jamie
O_O You're in Ohio already?! I assume there are a lot more building days ahead or otherwise you'll reach Seattle in no time!
DQ blizzards do NOT sound like the type of food to eat during such an exercise... probably sound delicious though. :-)
hi Sophia! You are amazing for doing this, I wanted to tell you. You are a total rockstar for biking through hail.
And I wanted to ask: is the flooding in the Midwest going to affect your route at all?
