Still Providence

Everyone on the trip seem to be awesome riding buddies so far :)

We're staying in Brown University's dorms, so it's ultra cush - showers per every ~3 people, beds, and fancy vending machines that sell pizza and icecream (we don't have those modern conveniences back in Chambana). Actually, the walls are CMU, which I used to hate with a passion but have a new found appreciation for. (I can tell you 9 reasons why it's awesome when paired with a masonry wall.)

My roomate for the moment, Hannah Wagley, found some action figures in the bathroom, so we decided they were coming with us for the trip. This is Matthew and Thornton:

I can't remember what their Dragon Ball Z names are, and frankly, don't care.
So far, we've had a "shake down" ride or about 20 miles for people to get a taste of group riding. Imagine 31 people all in the same jersey all riding together more or less in single file. I've never seen anything quite like it myself. People are certainly at different riding abilities now, but it'll all even out soon enough. I'm getting used to my handlebars being heavier from the aerobars.
I've been waging war with my sleeping bag at night. I'm sure we will come to an uneasy truce by the end of the trip.
First build day tomorrow! The orientation schedule says prefab, which I'm keen on. It's a very efficient way of building high quality components because of the controlled environment. It also allows for less construction waste. I guess some downfalls are that the houses can look more similar to each other, but as long as the pieces are not specialized enough, more variations are possible. Kind of like stem cells. One really great example is the Loblolly House by Kieran Timberlake.
