Last time I fund-raised for anything was when E.T. had those car-washes over the summer for the World Food Program (I still can't stand to leave a plate full).
So far, besides asking poor college students, I've decided to take advantage of some of my random skills, in this case, book binding. I intend to sell a few through the School of Architecture and also through CHP. Recycled paper notebooks, hand-sewn exposed spine binding with actual nice paper (pH neutral for good archival qualities), and some other odds and ends. How realistic is it to auction them off? (Anyone remember that art auction we had to go see the Blue Man Group??? That was fun)
Anyhoo, we'll see if the office I worked at over the summer will be willing to sponsor me ... I'm not getting my hopes up too much for that, but here's one thing about my boss there. He did take time off of work to go volunteer in the Honduras(? may have been somewhere else) and also to go on a boy scout trip with his son. I really admire people who can do that.
Merry Christmas to all and generic happy holidays to even more of you ~
